When you generally think about insects, the words whimsical and colorful do not come into mind. For the Spain based macro photographer Alejandro Ferrer Ruiz, however, the world of 6 and 8-legged tiny critters is ripe with bright and colorful imagery. Just take a look at his recent photo series of the raindrop-laden ladybugs after a recent rainfall.
The Alejandro Ferrer Ruiz’s macro shots of the cute little critters with beads of water sitting on their backs are all at once enchanting and fascinating. With each glistening droplet affixed to the insect’s body like it will never fall off. In these photographs the ladybugs seem to carry on with their day, climbing twigs and resting on flower petals. The photographer says, “I enjoy the beauty that exists in most minute things.”
